Bal Kalyan Sanstha, Pune established in 1979, is a Non-Profit organisation which primarily aims at providing recreational and cultural facilities exclusively  to the differently-abled children in

the state of Maharashtra. We emphasise on grooming these differently  abled children thus enabling them to be self dependent and lead a

mainstream life. The various patrons of the Sanstha include the wife of the Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra and all other important

officials in Pune city  We conceive special programmes every year on 3rd December on the

occasion of World Disabled Day to sensitise and educate the people at large about various issues concerning the disabled who are often considered a burden by their very own. In 2009, we introduced India’s first professional dance theatre group by persons with various disabilities under the leadership of Guru Pasha from New Delhi

entitiled “ ABILITY UNLIMITED” to the artistically inclined Punekars. People turned up in large numbers to cheer the performers and left

enthralled. The performances of “ABILITY UNLIMITED” have been highly

appreciated  by President Smt. Pratibha Patil, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, Prime Minister Shri Manmohan Singh, Smt. Sonia Gandhi and many  more.  This year it will be our own kids from the Bal Kalyan Sanstha who will be taking centrestage and enact nothing less than ‘‘RAMAYANA” on stage. Guru Pasha has been coming to Pune on regular intervals to coach the kids in the art form. It is a daunting task indeed but where there is a will, there is always a way. This shall proove that

diasbled children aren’t wholly “unskilled”. We wish to change the apathetic attitude of society towards the disabled and view them in a new light. We also believe many of our students will be able to find work after this exercise which shall establish them at par with other mainstream individuals of their age and instill confidence in them. This mammoth task requires a lot of man power and financial support.

We earnestly look forward to your encouragemnet and monetary support to realise this long nursed dream of ours. We urge you to partner us in this humanitarian cause and contribute

towards the well being of the differently abled lot.

From 4th to 9th August, 2008 first time in Pune the Block Printing workshop was held in association wil NIDM, Ahemadabad. It was joint activity with Spic Macay. More than 120 children learn various technics and methods of Block Printing from the Renouned artists of NIDM, Ahemadabad.

On  12th August, 2008 H.E. Mr. S.C.Jamir, Governor of Maharashtra visited our institution and appreciated the work of our Institution. Mr. P.G. Pawar, Hon. Secretary, Dr. Nitin Karir, Commissioner, Pune Division, Dr. Nitin Gadre, Commissioner, Persons with Disabilities, Maharashtra State wre present at the time of visit.

SEPTEMBER, 2008

In the month of Sept, 08 we are celebrating Ganesh Festival on Pune District level. Nice and beautiful craft decoration is made by our children.  More than 300 special children were working for last 3 months on the decoration activitiy. It is made from waste-re-use items.

In Gaensh Festival various cultural programs are organized . The Festival will be from 3rd Sept, 08 to 14th Sept, 08. More than 2000 special children from all over Pune District will participate in this festival. We are providing bus facility free of cost.

On 24th Sept, 08 Teacher’s Day will be celebrated in our premises. Mrs. Sandhya Deorukhkar, eminent social worker of our field and other renouned artists wil perform their art in this function.

On 29th Sept, 08 the Annual General Meeting of our Sanstha is arranged at 5.30 pm at the Bal Kalyan Sanstha, Pune

From 14th April, 08 Special Swimming Training Camp is starting for 45 days period for our special children. All styles will be teached by our Coach Mr. Abhijit Tambe and Mr.Ashok Nangre

No Fees will be charged for Swimming Camp. Timings of the Camp are 7.45 am to 10.45 am. Only Sunday will be off
